It was only through your efforts and knowledge that Chrysler First received a settlement far in excess of what we had anticipated. It turned out that what appeared to be a simple fire damage claim for a Phoenix, Arizona property was, in fact, more complex. Issues involving asbestos removal, replacement cost versus actual value, developer's profit and overhead, depreciation issues, etc., became a matter of dispute. Due to your role in dealing with our insurance company, especially in the area of applicable state and federal statutes, Chrysler First received a very satisfactory settlement…As a real estate asset manager who deals with a magnitude of 'professionals' in various aspects of the industry, I can say it was refreshing to meet a true professional. Your timely response to phone calls and your patience in educating Chrysler First to its different options - while looking out for our interest - was recognized and appreciated.
Now that our insurance efforts and legal skirmishes are all complete it is time for us to extend some credit for a job well done. That person is Ken Elkman. He clearly believed in what he was doing and he followed through. He always made himself available to discuss the many turns the program took, even when the situation did not appear healthy. Ken was not just positive, but informative as well. It’s a pleasure to deal with people who know what they are doing, who believe in it and can convey that to their clients. In retrospect, we felt that we were well informed and well served.
The insurance company tried to penalize us for doing everything in our power to mitigate our damages. The Vericlaim Adjuster was pleasant at first, but was very schooled and experienced in doing his job as he is tasked to do: to minimize the claim throughout the process…Fortunately, your firm succeeded on negotiating a fair and reasonable settlement with experience and tools that we do not have at our disposal…We appreciate the policy knowledge, detailed analysis and information that you provided us with which allowed us to make important business decisions relating to which path we wanted to take with our claim. We certainly did not realize the finesse, skill, and strategy necessary in the claims process to lead to such a successful resolution…Most importantly, it does come down to dollars in the end…You were able to successfully negotiate a settlement that was hundreds of thousands of dollars more than the insurance company initially offered.
The need for proper settlement with our insurance carrier was critical to the survival of our business. With the aid of you and your staff, we were able to obtain a fair and realistic settlement based on the coverage and the losses sustained.
